William (Bill) K. Norris

  Mr. William “Bill” K. Norris, age 73, of Weatherford, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on Friday, October 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

  Born on July 20, 1952, to William S. “Sy” Norris and Shirley M. Norris, Bill lived a life marked by curiosity, service, and devotion. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in May 1974 and later his Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at Dallas in August 1992.

  Bill proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army, carrying with him the discipline, honor, and integrity that shaped every chapter of his life. His professional journey was as diverse as it was accomplished - he worked as a software engineer, a technical writer, and finally as a high school mathematics teacher, where he poured his knowledge and patience into the next generation.

  Beyond his work, Bill found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pursuits. He was a craftsman who found peace in woodworking, a cook who brought people together around the table, and a photographer who captured beauty through his lens. He also tended to the land he loved, raising goats and cattle with care and pride.

  Above all, Bill was a family man. His greatest joy came from the love he shared with his wife, his son, and his adored grandchildren. He led with quiet strength and a generous heart, giving freely of his time to others as a Boy Scout Cub Master and a Little League Baseball Coach - always leading by example, always inspiring those around him.

  Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Sy Norris.

  He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Mary Fetter Norris; his son and daughter-in-law, Alexander “Alex” P. Norris and Chasite S. Norris; granddaughters, Kyra S. Norris and Rylee P. Norris; and great-grandson, Roman J. Diaz; as well as his brother, Larry A. Norris, and sister, Sheryl Akins.

  A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
