William Howard Pope, 94, of Weatherford, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 in a local care facility. William was born February 14, 1920, in Fort Worth, to Lena and Ewell Pope.
Mr. Pope graduated from Texas Christian University with a Master’s Degree. He served in the United States Army and Navy. He was an avid reader and enjoyed treasure hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Pope; son, Ronnie Stover; step-children, Joy Rickey and husband, Joe, Judy Wolf and Joe Russell; grandchildren, Ronald Stover, Ann Stover, Tamberly Stokes, Chris Stover, Tina Stout, Robert Bono and several other grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, North Side Baptist Church. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery.
