William “Bill” Richards Homsher, age 79, passed from this life on Monday, November 17, 2025. Born on October 1, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Earl and Rose (Hacker) Homsher. He and his family moved to Texas as a teen and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, Texas. After high school, Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy, stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk in the Vietnam War.
Bill married Pamela Jean Homsher on September 14, 1970. Together they made a home, adding Greg to the family in 1973, making Shea a big brother. He built a long and accomplished career as an electrician and account manager for the General Services Administration, retiring after 30 years of federal service. They moved to Weatherford afterwards and adopted Maria “Mia” as their daughter in 2015, becoming grandparents to Billy, Micayla, and Bella.
Known affectionately as “The Wizard,” Bill had an extraordinary ability to repair anything - electrical, mechanical, or automotive. His love for motorcycles, especially Harleys, was lifelong; he built them, worked on them, and rode them with pride. Bill was a proud member of North Side Baptist Church and spent 50 years performing with The Fabulous 50s Band and various other bands. He shared his musical talents generously, teaching guitar lessons to children/adults and encouraging their love of music. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 163. Our Dad was full of life and never met a stranger. He was a friend to all and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved being a Pawpaw to his grandchildren and was very proud of his family. We will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Rose Homsher; his wife, Pamela Jean Homsher; and their infant daughter. Bill is survived by his sons, William Shea Homsher and Greg Allen Homsher; his daughter, Maria Woods and husband, Shane; and his grandchildren, Billy Castillo, Micayla Woods, and Bella Woods.
A graveside service will be held at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery. All are encouraged to attend and wear their Harley gear and ride their motorcycles.
