His greatest passion was spending time with the 18 grandchildren he and his beloved wife, Jeannie, were blessed to share.

William LaVoy “Bill” Dobbs, Jr., 75, of Springtown, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Bill was born on March 11, 1951, in Weatherford, Texas. He grew up in Springtown, Texas, where he attended Springtown High School. He later attended Weatherford College before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 1973.

At a young age, Bill professed his Christian faith and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church.

Bill spent his career in metal sales, where he enjoyed meeting people and building relationships.

A lifelong athlete, Bill loved baseball, playing throughout his school years and continuing into adulthood in recreational leagues. Bill was proud to be a pitcher for Texas A&M and a lifelong Aggie. As a father, he found great joy coaching his three children in countless sporting events over the years. He also enjoyed studying World War II history and took great pride in working in his yard.

While Bill had many interests, nothing compared to the joy he found in his family. His greatest passion was spending time with the 18 grandchildren he and his beloved wife, Jeannie, were blessed to share. Whether telling one of his famous jokes, playing on his mini golf course, or simply spending time together, his grandchildren were the center of his world.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie L. Dobbs; his children, Quinn and Katie Dobbs and their children, Tayler, Eleanor, and Quinn Ryan; Will and Kaci Dobbs and their children, Henry and Lucy; and Betsy and Travis Hensley and their children, Spence and Hattie. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Katrina and Todd Sanguras and their children, Cole, Lauren, Anika and Beckam; Lindsey and Aaron Aday and their children, Corbin and Connor; Kelly and Spencer Androes and their children, Asher, Isaac, and Ezra; Barry Campbell and his children, Clay and Claire; and Adam Campbell and Thalia Nguyen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVoy and Elsie Dobbs, and his younger brother, Ray Howard Dobbs.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time.
