William Carlton Cooley

  William Carlton Cooley, 68, passed from this life on Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born July 29, 1956, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Thomas Lamar Cooley and Catherine Walker.

  Carlton married the love of his life, Diane, on September 14, 1974, and they spent 48 years loving and caring for one another. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing chess and watching sports.

  He served many years as a Baptist minister where he helped many in their faith. He was a loving husband and father who loved God. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

  Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Carla Allums, and husband, Timothy; son, Joseph Cooley, and wife, Cassie; and grandchildren, Gage, Austin, Rylie, and Ava.

  Carlton was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, and his parents, Thomas and Catherine.

  A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, in Weatherford, Texas 76086, with a time of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

  Following the service, burial will take place at Annetta Cemetery, 2667 W Farm to Market 5, Annetta, Texas 76008.
