  William Alexander Long, 80, of Weatherford, died Thursday, October 30, 2008, in a Weatherford nursing facility. Born October 7, 1928 in Holden, Missouri, he was a resident of Parker County for many years. William was a union iron worker and in the National Guard. 

  He is survived by his wife, Billye Long of Weatherford; daughters, Nancy Hinsch and husband, Jerry of Escondido, California, Sharon Masten and husband, Bob of Krum, and Susan Richroath of Sanger; step daughter, Vicki Woods and husband, Richard of Grand Prairie; son, Larry Long of Sanger; step sons, Ray Gameson of N. Richland Hills and Randy Gameson of Lakeville, Minnesota; sister, Mary Louise Cooney and husband, Bob; brothers, Tom Long and Jean of Kearney, Missouri, and J.C. Long and wife, Judy of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. 

  Graveside service: 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2008, in East Greenwood Cemetery.
