Wayne Andrew Hubik

Wayne Andrew Hubik, age 71, passed away on Saturday, February 10th, in Weatherford, Texas.

Wayne was born November 15th, 1952, in Rosebud, Texas to parents, Jeff and Gertrude (Sue) Hubik.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Hubik of Weatherford; and two children and their families: son, Jacob Hubik, his wife, Julie, and grandsons, Hays and Will of Lubbock; and daughter, Crystal Rawlinson, her husband, Cory, and granddaughter, Madelyn, and grandson, Landon of Peaster. Wayne is also survived by brothers: Jeff, Carl, and Steve; and sister, Bessie; and their families; and so many other family members and wonderful friends.

Wayne graduated from Rosebud Lott High School in 1971. He went on to attend Baylor University and was the first in his family to graduate with both a Bachelor’s degree and later a Master’s degree in Education. He married Ruth Ann Hubik in 1975 and moved to Weatherford. Wayne taught school in Weatherford, worked at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, and was a principal at Lott Elementary and Millsap Elementary Schools.

Wayne loved the Lord and his family, delighted in kids, had a wonderful sense of humor, and was an avid sports fan. He and Ruth Ann were faithful members at Greenwood Baptist Church.

Services to honor Wayne will be Thursday, February 15th, at 11:00 a.m., at Greenwood Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made in Wayne’s honor to Greenwood Baptist Church building fund.
