Walter Leon Looney, 77, passed from this life on Monday, March 6, 2023. Walter was born September 24, 1945, in Iola, Kansas, to Walter Lee Looney and Helen Louise (Smith) Looney. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his military career, Walter worked as a railroad conductor, retiring from Union Pacific Railroad. He loved to play golf and to spend time with his family. Walter will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Looney, and his siblings, Charles Looney, Robert Looney, and Janice Weldon.
Walter is survived by his wife, Lyndeen Lee Looney of Weatherford, Texas; daughter, D'Lynn Lee (Scott) of Merkel, Texas; daughter, Aida Burkett (Mike) of Kingwood, Texas; grandchildren, Randa Williams, Kory Lee, Kayla Burkett, and Catherine Burkett; great-grandchildren, Cole Williams, Brynlee Williams, and Noah Williams; brothers, Larry Looney of Georgetown, Texas, Don Looney of Elgin, Texas, and Harold Looney of Towanda, Kansas.
