Viola Walker

  Viola Walker, age 93, of Weatherford, passed away Friday afternoon, September 23, 2016, in a local nursing facility. She was born the daughter of Earnest and Minnie Scherer, on October 25, 1922, in Rosedale, Oklahoma. Viola was a resident of Parker County for many years. She was a teacher, homemaker, member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church, and known as “Granny” to her Grandchildren. 

  Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Walker.

  Survivors: daughters, Nancy Owen and husband, Ken of Weatherford and Martha Rogers of Stephenville; son, Alfred Walker of Paradise; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

  Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., on Monday morning. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
