Vida Wolfenberger, 93, of Weatherford, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at Holland Lake Nursing Center. Born June 19, 1915, in Parker County, to Henry and Eddie Mcfarland, a resident of Parker County all her life, she was a homemaker and a lifetime community leader of Zion Hill Community. Vida was instrumental in the formation and long term success of the Zion Hill Community Center and the Zion Hill Cemetery Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; sister, Juanita Smith; and brother, Carl Henry McFarland.
Survivors: son, Allen Maresh of Hurst; sister, Marie Roberson of Weatherford; granddaughter, Sallie Maresh; two great-grandchildren; two nephews, Mike Roberson and I.W. Queen; and one niece, Kathy Nichols.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Zion Hill Community Church, with interment at Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
The family would like to express there gratitude to Dr. Mark Eidson and the staff of Holland Lake Nursing Center for the kindness displayed during the long term convalescence of Vida Wolfenberger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Zion Hill Cemetery Association, 102 River Rock Ct., Poolville, Texas 76487.
