The joy and love she gave so freely will continue to ripple through the lives of everyone she has touched.
Vickie Ruth Sherman, age 62, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Vickie was born on January 25, 1964, in Weatherford, Texas, to Don Torbett and Emma (Garrett) Torbett.
A lifelong resident of Weatherford, Vickie was formerly the owner of Don’s Lawnmower Shop. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with her family, who meant everything to her. Vickie especially loved pedicure days with her daughters, Margarita Fridays with the girls, her beloved half-and-half tea runs (Taco Casa will surely miss her), casino trips, and caring for her plants and flowers.
Above all, Vickie loved the Lord and was saved at an early age. Her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years, and she attended several churches, including Waterhouse Church and Triple Cross Cowboy Church. Her family finds peace in knowing she is now healed and at home in Heaven.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Emma Torbett, and her brother, Jerry Torbett.
She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Sherman of Weatherford, Texas; her daughters, Adrianne Bernal and husband Sammy, and Brooke Foster; and her beloved grand-dog, Winnie. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Cotton and husband Jim; her aunt, Gloria Brooks; her sisters-in-law, Diane Thornhill, Donna Portillo, and Tammy Bleau; her brothers-in-law, David James and Ed Drost; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A celebration of Vickie’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 1893 on Lee, located at 109 E Lee Ave., Weatherford, Texas 76086, as we gather to share memories, laughter, and love in honor of the incredible woman she was.
Vickie lived with a warmth that made people feel instantly at home. Her smile would light up a room, her laugh was unforgettable and infectious. Her love for her family was fierce and unconditional; she truly was the heart that held everyone together. Vickie had a gift for bringing people together, lifting others up, and making life feel lighter simply by being herself. Her love reached far beyond her family, the joy and love she gave so freely will continue to ripple through the lives of everyone she has touched.
“If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So whether, we live or die, we belong to the Lord.”
