Vernon W. Henderson

  Vernon W. Henderson, age 86, of Weatherford, died early Thursday morning, September 10, 2009, at his residence. Born August 9, 1923 in Jacksonville, North Carolina, a resident of Parker County for many years. He was a plumber and member of Plumber and Steam Fitters Local #146, a Rancher, Veteran of WWII and member of the Tin Top Church of Christ. Mr. Henderson enjoyed fishing, traveling, and he loved his family and family gatherings.
 
  Survivors: wife, Katherine Henderson of Weatherford; daughter, Carolyn Gildow and husband, Fred of Weatherford; sons, Woody Henderson, and wife, Karen of Weatherford and Ronald Henderson and wife, Rosemary of Midland; sister, Lila Barrett of Sylvester, Georgia; brother, Lonnie Henderson of Morehead City, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
 
  Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2009, in the Tin Top Church of Christ, with interment in the Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the funeral home.
