Vernon Stogsdill, age 86, of Aledo, died Wednesday morning, August 27, 2008, in a Weatherford nursing facility. Born March 2, 1922, in Orchardville, Illinois, a resident of Parker County for several years, he was a retired Pharmaceutical Medical Sales Representative, a World War II Navy Veteran, and a member of the Hilltop Family Church in Springtown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Creta; parents, Cecil and Daisy Stogsdill; and a brother, Evert Stogsdill.
Survivors: daughter, Debbie Smith and husband, Scott; sons, Dennis Stogsdill and wife, Karen, Alan Stogsdill and wife, Paula, Stephen Stogsdill and wife, Larissa, and Jeff Stogsdill and wife, Tina; sisters, Ruth Kassis and Ruby Carpenter; brothers, Harold Stogsdill, Ed Stogsdill, and Ben Stogsdill; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, with interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the funeral home.
