Verdie Lee (Susie) Johnston, 86, of Mineral Wells, went to her heavenly home on October 15, 2014. She was born to Arthur and Annie Edna Johnston, on March 25, 1928, in Erath County Texas. She married Wade Irvin Johnston on August 16, 1947. Susie was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mineral Wells for over 65 years where she served in many capacities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A. A. and Edna Johnston and her husband, Wade Johnston.
Her survivors include: daughter, Brenda Unerfusser of Mineral Wells; son, Mike Johnston and wife, Jane of Arlington; sister in law, Dee DeBusk of Granbury; four grandchildren, Michael Johnston with wife, Leah, Christopher Johnston with wife, Amanda, Erica Unerfusser, and Jason Unerfusser; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
