Tommy Howard Newberry

  Tommy (Pa) Newberry, a lifelong resident of Parker County, entered the gates of heaven on June 3, 2020. Tommy was born on October 27, 1946 in Hillsboro, Texas.

  Tommy was a proud member of the United States Armed Forces serving his country during the Vietnam War. His service was something that forever shaped his life in devotion to his family, friends, country, and most importantly his Creator. 

  Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service, Honor, Integrity, and Courage were seeds sown into his life as a young man in the military, which became the very attributes he modeled throughout his life. Tommy worked as an auto technician and mechanic for several large local dealerships. He also, faithfully served the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse for 33 years including leadership positions as Wrangler, Lieutenant and Corral Boss. Tommy was a devoted husband, faithful father, committed Pa, loyal friend, and loved all deeply.

  Tommy was survived by his loving wife, Debbie Newberry; daughter, Tonya Watson and husband, Jeff; son, Timmy Yeary and wife, Tammy; son, Toye Yeary and wife, Tonya; son, Toby Yeary and wife, LeighAnn; grandchildren, Shelly and husband, Mark, Brandy, Teagan, Tatum, Trista, TyAnn, Tallon, Sembree, and Will; along with great grandchildren, Cayden and Mark, Jr. He was also survived by his brother, Rodney Newberry and wife, Glenda; uncle, Doug; and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

  Preceded in death by father and mother, Leonard M. and Frances Newberry; sister, Debbie Lou Eubank; and grandparents, Leonard F. and Clanie Newberry, and Commie and Mazie Luck.

  Tommy was a dedicated Ambassador of Christ and held his ultimate hope in Jesus.

  Please join us in celebrating Tommy’s life. His visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N Elm St, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Tommy’s celebration service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2020, at Greenwood Baptist Church, 1504 Greenwood Cut Road, Weatherford, Texas 76088, with interment to follow at Newberry Cemetery.
