Thomas Wayne Larkin

July 11, 1957 — May 15, 2025

Thomas Wayne Larkin, 67, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on May 15, 2025. He was born in Denison, Texas, and moved to Weatherford in 1962, where he built a life dedicated to family and hard work.

Thomas was a gifted athlete who played baseball, football, and rode bulls. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman his entire life. He began working at Weatherford International while still in high school and later founded his own oil field services company, JT Larkin Services, that he owned and successfully operated for 35 years.

He was known for his unforgettable smile, contagious laugh, outgoing personality, and unending generosity. His heart was the biggest thing about him, second only to his smile. He was the type that would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was authentic, genuine and unedited. Thomas was also a self-proclaimed 'mama's boy.' Anyone who knew Thomas knew that he loved his mother, Wanda, dearly. He was one-of-a-kind without a doubt.

Thomas and his wife of nearly 20 years, Karey, worked side by side at JT Larkin Services and enjoyed traveling. Thomas also was a loving grandfather. He loved watching Gage play baseball, Paige do cheer and taking Lane fishing. He was especially proud of his son, JT, who carries forward the values of hard work, loyalty, and family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Fae Short Letson; his father, John Thomas Larkin (affectionately known as “T-Bone”); and his stepson, Jared Rogers.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Karey Larkin; his son, JT Larkin, and his wife, Emily; his grandchildren, Gage Larkin, Paige Larkin, and Lane Rogers; his sister, Carrie Larkin Jones, and her husband, Bobby; his nephews, Tre Newby, and his wife, Kenzie, Rayne Newby and his fiancé, Krista Burns; and his great-niece, Kylie Rhae Newby; as well as his sister-in-law, Kimmy Newby, and her husband, Philip Newby.

Thomas Wayne Larkin will forever be missed by his family and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weatherford Evening Lions Club.
