Steven Dean Church, 67, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Steve was born on January 22, 1959, in Midland, Texas, to Gene and Betty (Wright) Church. A skilled welder by trade, Steve was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in everything he built. Whether working with his hands, tackling projects around the house, or spending time outdoors tending to his yard, he found joy in creating and caring for the things he loved.
Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and delighted in entertaining family and friends with his jokes. He married the love of his life, Leslie Mitchell, and together they built a beautiful life centered on love, family, and lasting memories. For 40 years, they shared life's adventures side by side.
Steve will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a hardworking man, and a faithful friend whose kindness and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Leslie Church of Weatherford; three sons, Jeremey Dean Church and wife, Chelsea, Christopher Eugene Church, and Clayton William Church; daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Reed and husband, Burt; grandchildren, Austin Bradley Reed, Acheron Dean Reed, and Tyeler Dakota Church; siblings, Larry Gene Church and wife, Terri, Lorri Church, and Missy Bailey and husband, Terry; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Mr. Church will be laid to rest during a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Fairview Cemetery in Millsap, Texas.
