Shirley Jean Pitchford

Shirley Shelby Gammil Pitchford, 87, passed away September 29, 2021. She was born to Everett and Essie Butler Shelby on July 4, 1934, the last of 11 children. Shirley graduated from Weatherford High School in 1951 and married Paul Gammil in the same year. Paul passed away in 1979. Shirley married Bob Pitchford in 1993 and he passed away in 2005.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eddie, Ronnie, Hal, and E.C. Shelby; sisters, Johnnie Yeary, Margaret Rhoten, Mary Letson, Nanette Hamilton, and Martha Ledbetter; great grandchildren, Courtney, Cory, and Chance Mark Jones.

Graveside Service October 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM at East Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Carter of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; son, Paul Edgar (Eddie) Gammil Jr. and wife, Gwen of San Antonio, Texas, along with their children, Justin of Plano and Ashley of Garland; daughters, Vicki Louise Harrison and husband, Terry of Lubbock and their children, Jon, Jim Harrison, and children, Colton and Rhyanon, Jessica Strong and husband, Michael of Lubbock and their children, Landon, Kennedy, and Savannah, Jenny Ivy and husband, Michael of Lubbock and children, Dylan and Drake, and Cindy Jones and Mike Becknell of Lubbock; son, Cody Jones and wife, Wendy and children, Joshua, Natalie, and Caleb; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
