It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Samuel Webb Denson on April 4, 2025. Born April 29, 1954, to Kate Chester Denson and Dr. Judson Samuel Denson, MD, in Pasadena, California. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his God, his family, his home, and Texas. He was our beloved and admired patriarch and will be missed forever.
In his life he achieved many things. He served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Warfare Technician until he was medically and honorably discharged in 1991. Webb was told he would never walk again but he fought back and defied that diagnosis for the rest of his life even through multiple spinal surgeries. He was an Oblate of St. Benedict and taught Rites of Christian Initiation (Catechism) for adults. He competed in archery, winning several medals and trophies.
Webb studied Gemology and earned a Graduate Gemologist degree through G.I.A. and studied the Japanese sword art of Battodo, earning Shodan and Nidan degrees. He learned to play the Great Highland Pipes and played Bagpipes with Tehachapi Mountain Pipe and Drums. Webb served often as a firekeeper for Native American sweat lodges. He also assisted with Fireworks Pyrotechnics for large shows. Until shortly before his death, he also improved his shooting skills weekly.
Webb went out and did everything he could with his whole heart. He often said two things; “There is nothing I can’t do; it just takes me a little longer!” and “God Bless Texas!”
Webb was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Christina Denson; and stepson, Kenneth Wolfrom.
He is survived by his wife, Lonita Denson of Weatherford, Texas for 25 years; brother, Judd Denson of Palm Desert, California; stepson, Anton ‘Tony’ Wolfrom of Tuckerman, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Miriah Bruce of Batesville, Arkansas; stepson, Fernando Denson of Alexandria, Virginia; daughter, Candise Denson Rutledge of Heber Springs, Arkansas; adopted/children of his heart, Dimitri Timohovich, Becky Timohovich, and son, Max of Alaska; Christina ‘Tina’ Garcia and her children, Faith and David; Joseph Michael Hull and his daughter, Serra, all of Idaho; and his grandchildren, Sodonnia, Jacob, Aileen (Allie), Lucas, Madeline, Lily, Eli, Samantha, and Katelyn of Arkansas, and Alexander of Virginia.
His memorial service will be held in the coming months with the date and time to be announced.
