Sam Kenneth Davis departed from this earth and is in the presence of Jesus on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at age 68. He was born on October 9, 1956, in Durango, Colorado, to Barton and Velma (Harbin) Davis.
A 1974 graduate of Western Hills High School, Ken met the love of his life, Jackie. Jackie’s family welcomed Ken and made him feel like one of their own. Shortly after graduation, Ken proudly enlisted in the United States Army.
Professionally, Ken worked in the software industry, but he always loved being involved in his children’s activities. He served as a Cub Scout leader, attended endless Aledo football games, and was a proud supporter of the Aledo band. A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Ken demonstrated his faith by serving others and mentoring youth. He found peace in the outdoors while camping, fishing, and playing golf.
After Ken retired, nothing brought him more joy than being Pops and spending time with his grandchildren. He couldn’t wait to meet each one of them at the hospital. Pops loved spending time with the boys outside. He took them fishing and rarely missed a baseball game, soccer match, football game, or taekwondo belt test. He was proud of each of them and their unique talents.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Barton and Velma Davis, as well as his in-laws, Jack and Lee Gramer.
Ken is survived by his wife, Jackie Davis; daughter, Courtney Gildon and husband, Grant; son, Jason Davis, and wife, Mechelle; son, Kyle Davis; and by his beloved grandchildren, Grayden, Baker, Asher, Trevor, and Emma. He is also survived by his brother, Joel Davis and wife, Carol; sister, Linda Enos and husband, Ron; brother-in-law, Jeff Gramer; sister-in-law, Jill Gramer; brother-in-law, Jay Gramer and wife, Mary; and many nieces and nephews.
