Ruth Ann Hartness

  Ruth Ann Hartness, a cherished member of the Weatherford community, passed from this life on June 30, 2025, at the age of 84. Ruth was born on March 29, 1941, in Olney, Texas, to Raymond G. Martin and Mary (Cockburn) Martin. 

  In her younger years, Ruth loved dancing with her husband, Ted, and the two shared many memorable camping trips with family and later just the two of them. A dedicated homemaker, she was also the heart and hands behind Hartness Printing, where she worked as a printer prep and finisher for 50 years and proudly co-owned the business with Ted for many of those years. Ruth was a faithful member of the Central Christian Church for over 55 years. She found joy in cooking and had a particular passion for photography, capturing beautiful moments through her lens. 

  Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hartness; granddaughter, Haley Neudorf Hartness; parents, Raymond and Mary Ann Martin; and her brother, George Martin. 

  Ruth is survived by her son, Ken Hartness and wife, Diane; daughters, Lori Bennett and husband, Dwayne and Keri Waller and husband, Kevin; five grandchildren, Elaina Hartness, Melissa Bennett, Jason Bennett, Jared Waller and wife, Kristen, and Bryce Waller; two great-grandchildren, Cason Bennett and Bree Bennett; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Martin and Sue Casey. 

  To honor Ruth’s life and memory, she will lie in state for viewing on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a closed casket visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., all at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at East Greenwood Cemetery, located on Front Street in Weatherford, Texas. 

  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Parker County Meals on Wheels or the non-profit of your choice. Ruth Hartness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
