Rusty William Phillips, 23, of Weatherford, a night time grocery stocker for Wal Mart, lost his two year battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born March 5, 1985, in Fort Worth, to Ronnie and Debbie Phillips. Rusty lived in Weatherford all his life and graduated from Weatherford High School. He was a self taught guitarist, drummer and at one time played the guitar with the praise and worship team for the youth at Calvary Fellowship now Westwood Christian Fellowship.
Rusty had a great wit and sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. He also loved video games, reading, and go to and critic movies.
Rusty was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Phillips and maternal grandmother, Shirly Bideler.
Survivors: Parents, Ronnie and Debbie Phillips of Weatherford; sister, Kimmy Roberts and husband, Troy of Houston; maternal grandparents, Dave and Marlene Bideler of Weatherford; paternal grandparents, Rev. W.P and Margaret Phillips of Weatherford; aunts and uncles, Joan and Richard Rockwell, Johnny and Norma Phillips, Marsha and Clifford Westbrook, Brenda and Randy Duncan, Gayla and David Villesanor, Randy Bideler, Christina and Jon Bonneau, Amy and Dwayne Larvin, Diana and Marty Odom, all of Weatherford, Rick and Michele Bideler of Fort Worth; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the Center for Cancer and Blood disorders or the Westwood Christian Fellowship Church. Services will be held at the Westwood Christian Fellowship Church on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., with interment in Poolville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
