Don Gammill, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and valued member of his community, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on December 20, 1949, in Haskell, Texas, to Leo Gammill and Ruthie (Carter) Gammill, he dedicated his life to his family and to the craft of building, leaving a lasting mark as a respected General Contractor.
Throughout his career, Don was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. His projects reflected not only his skilled craftsmanship but also his passion for creating spaces that brought people together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his grandson, Cooper.
Don is survived by his wife, Nickey Gammill of Poolville; daughter, Shelly Hull and her spouse, Chris, and their children, Tyler Don and Amber; son, Doug Gammill and his wife, Cindy, and their son, Nate; and son, Toby Gammill, and his children, Gus, Grae, and Greta. He is also survived by his brother, James Rodney Gammill and his wife, Debbie, of Weatherford.
In honor of his memory, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Lone Star Cemetery, 5198 Advance Road, Poolville, Texas, where Don will be laid to rest.
Don leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and craftsmanship that will continue to inspire future generations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
