In Loving Memory of
Roger Kelly Ashcraft
August 21, 1945 — July 10, 2026
Roger went to his Heavenly Home to Jesus on July 10, 2026, at age 80. He died peacefully at his home in Springtown, Texas.
Roger was born August 21, 1945 to Ezra and Marjorie Ashcraft at their home in small town Wallace, West Virginia. Roger enjoyed a happy, country childhood and was taught early on to love God and learn of His ways. From time to time as a child, he put his piano lessons to use at his childhood church. In 1963 he graduated from Glenville High School, Glenville, West Virginia. He went on to complete his education at West Virginia Institute of Technology in Montgomery, West Virginia, earning a degree in Electrical Technology.
In 1967 he accepted a position at the newly built Union Carbide Chemical Plant in a small river town in Taft, Louisiana. In 1971 he met and married Lana Jane Towles in New Orleans, Louisiana. They raised their sons Gregg and Glenn in small town Tickfaw, Louisiana, where they all enjoyed a more rural lifestyle.
From the beginning Roger and Lana dedicated their sons to God, teaching them to love God and learn of His ways. Besides being a faithful and dedicated support for his family, Roger enjoyed annual family trips to his home in Wallace, West Virginia, and also some Thanksgiving trips there to teach his sons to deer hunt.
After working 35 years, 7 months, and 20 days, Roger retired from Union Carbide in 2002 to Ft. Worth, Texas, and later moved to Springtown. He enjoyed volunteer work at his church and in his community, and was a loving, hands-on, devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing in his spare time.
Roger is survived by his wife, Lana; his son Gregg, Gregg’s wife Sabrina, and their three children, Elijah, Lydia, and Coraline; and his son Glenn, Glenn’s wife Tara, and their three children, Madison, Morgan, and Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Randall Neal Ashcraft, and his sister Zeretha Ashcraft Ritchey.
The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but your prayers are highly coveted.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
