Robert Milton Long

  Robert Milton Long, 68, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2023. Robert was born March 18, 1955, in Belton, Texas, to the late Bobby Long and Bessie (McKeown) Long. He graduated from Weatherford High School in 1973, and remained a proud alumni and avid fan of WHS athletics. After high school, Robert got his Associates Degree at Weatherford College.

  Robert will be remembered for his love of sports, especially, The University of Arkansas, his love of early rock ’n roll, and the love he had for his family.

  Robert is survived by his sister and her husband, Joy and Ron Gunter of Weatherford, Texas; niece and her husband, Melody and Doug Procter; niece and her partner, Katie Gunter and Matt Scifres; great niece, Adelyn Joy Procter; and a loving extended family.

  A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm St., Weatherford, Texas, with visitation beginning one hour prior, at 1:00 p.m.; burial to follow the service at East Greenwood Cemetery.
