Robert Leslie Pond, 84, of Garner, died May 22, 2010, in a Weatherford hospital. He was born November 21, 1925 in Garner, to H.O. and Myrtle Finger Pond. He was a deacon of Garner Baptist Church and a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Pond; daughters, Wilma Jean Babb of Fort Worth and Carolyn Key of Garner; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces, Cecilia Ann Barrett and Wanda Joyce Duran.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Garner Baptist Church. Burial will be in Authon Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
