Rita K. Murray

  It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Kay Murray, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at age 80.

  Born March 9, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana, to Floyd Summa and Hilda (Lohr) Summa, she married David Murray and together they had two sons, Jim and Scott, and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. 

  Professionally, she worked in the healthcare industry prior to her retirement. Rita loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; she especially enjoyed watching grandson Tanner play minor league baseball. Rita enjoyed the companionship of her dog, making blinged out shirts, and tending to her roses. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Hilda Summa, and her sister, Suzanne Post. 

  Rita is survived by her husband, David P. Murray of Weatherford, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jody Murray; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Chantel Murray; grandchildren, Kaitlyn DeLuca and husband, Mike, Cassidy Murray, Tanner Murray, and London Murray; and by her sister, Barbara Phillips and husband, Charlie. 

  Though Rita was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, no services are scheduled at this time.
