Richard "Rick" Moore, Jr.

  Richard Moore Jr. was born Friday the 13th of September 1946 in Weatherford, Texas, to Richard and Laveta Mae (Moyer) Moore.

  He was a family man and treasured the time he spent with them. Rick was a Weatherford man his entire life. He enjoyed softball as a younger man and was an avid Cowboy fan, with his “football wife,” Mel Jefferson.

  He retired from Lockheed Martin in 2007 and started his favorite career as a full-time PaPa. His joy was picking up and dropping off kids wherever they needed to go. “PaPa sitting,” rocking babies, and cheering on all the kids at their ballgames became his favorite pastime.

  He is lovingly missed by the love of his life, Ollie; his son, Tim Fisher; daughter, Deborah Sarslow and husband Brian; and son-in-law, Todd Chandler and wife Kayleen; grandchildren, Sarah and husband Michael, Kayla, Brett and wife Katelen, Brooke and husband Hayden, Breanna and husband Colton, and Braeden; great grandchildren, Aiden, Tim, Sierra, Sam, Josh, Sawyer, Ella, Laney, Truett, Trooper, and August; sister, Dianne Greene and husband Wendell; brother-in-law, Marvin Hull and wife Ruthann; and sister-in-law, Ivannell Moon and husband Gerald.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Rev and Mrs. I.C. Hull; his daughter, Paula Chandler; his daughter-in-law, Dianata Fisher; and grandson, Blake Chandler.

  A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.

  The funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 25, 2026, also at the funeral chapel.
