Richard M. Newman

  Richard M. Newman was born in Paris, Texas, on September 20, 1923. He was the oldest of three brothers. He served in the Army Air Force in England during World War II as a waist gunner. He received four oak leaf clusters. He worked for Convair/General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter for a total of 45 years. He married his childhood sweetheart, Mauda Reece Davis, in 1945 and was married 50 years and had two daughters. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, and his wife. 

  He was a father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

  He is survived by Brenda Newman Wittkohl and Otfried Wittkohl, Jr., of Weatherford, Laura Beth Wittkohl and her daughter, Ashley of Ft. Worth, and Richard Wittkohl of Ft. Worth, Marla and Max Hurd of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Stephanie and Michael Torres of San Antonio, and their children, Taylor, Cameryn and Michael, and Emily and Rene Karsholt of Tampa, Florida, and their son, Timothy.

  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ashcreek Cemetery in Azle.
