Reynaldo “Rey” Gonzales, a United States Army veteran and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born March 24, 1951, in Brownwood, Texas, to Domingo Gonzales and Maria (Gonzalez) Gonzales. He passed from this life on March 11, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family.
After faithfully serving his country in the United States Army, where he concluded his military career with distinguished service in the Color Guard, Rey went on to dedicate 37 successful years of service to the United States Postal Service. Throughout his life, he was known for his deep love for God, his devotion to his family, and his kind spirit toward others. Rey had a gift for seeing the good in people and sharing that outlook with those around him.
In his free time, Rey enjoyed attending estate sales, hunting, and fishing—activities made even more meaningful when shared with his family. Above all else, he treasured his role as a father and grandfather, and he found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories they will carry with them always.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Maria Gonzales, and by his first wife, Lydia June Gonzales.
Rey leaves behind many who will cherish his memory, including his wife, Sherrie Ann Rowe of Poolville, Texas; his children, Anthony Hull and wife Ashley, Kyle Gonzales and wife Brandy, and Elisa Barrow and husband Stephen; thirteen grandchildren, Kaylie Hull, Kylie Hull, Ty Hull, Izaak Gonzales, Izaiah Gonzales, Kaleb Gonzales, Cole Mathes, Shyenne Haynie, Elexia Gonzales, Maci Garvin, Joshua Garvin, Abraham Barrow, and Brian Barrow; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Luciano Gonzales, Yolanda Guinn, Sylvia Gonzales, and Fred Gonzales.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, at the funeral chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at Johnson Cemetery, 5600 FM 1189, Weatherford, Texas 76087.
