Renerle Thompson, age 80, was born December 3rd, 1936, and passed away on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 37 years, T.J. Thompson, and her parents, Earnest Dolphin and Ruby Elizabeth Rains.
She is survived by three children, Vicki Kay Green and husband, Melvin, Mary Hope and husband, Tony Leyba, and Julie Ann Waters and husband, Joe; two grandchildren, Ramie Reynolds and husband, Travis, and Wendy Copeland; three great grandchildren, Scott Copeland, Stephanie Copeland, and Megan Copeland. She is also survived by one brother, E.D. Rains, Jr., and one sister, Leta Beth Muniz and husband, Carlos; niece, Karen Devereaux; and nephews, Brad Loomis, Adam Rains, and Michael Rains.
Renerle was well known by all for her talent in music. She started piano lessons at an early age, taught by Miss Nona Akard in Weatherford. She had an ear and talent for music and became a beautiful pianist by the time she was twelve. She started teaching music around the age of 17 and taught for several years. Renerle was the church pianist/organist for Couts Memorial United Methodist Church in Weatherford for over 50 years. She was loved and will be missed by her family and her many faithful friends. Renerle always had a joke to tell and loved to laugh with you and sometimes at you, which she might be doing right now.
Her funeral will be held at Couts Memorial United Memorial Methodist Church in Weatherford on Friday, April 28th, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow in East Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 27th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
