Polly Ann Bonner

Polly Ann Bonner, 86, passed peacefully from this life on November 15, 2023, in Weatherford, Texas. Polly Ann was born in Johnson County, Texas on March 2, 1937, to Harry Lockhart Bonner and Florence (Polly) Sawyer Bonner. The family later moved to Houston, where Polly Ann and her younger brother Tom grew up. With both of their parents coming from close families, they spent lots of time gathering at one home or another sharing meals and playing with numerous cousins while the adults played Canasta!

Polly Ann spent her teenage years studying dance with Patsy Swayze and was a Majorette at Reagan High School. Most recently during a visit from her great granddaughter, she showed she still had her baton skills! She worked in banking for many years before moving to Merkel to be near her sons and their families. Polly Ann had a passion for horses and dogs, and her dogs gave her many years of companionship. In her most recent years, she moved to Weatherford to be near her son Kris and his family and for health reasons. She loved her family fiercely and had a sharp wit that kept those around her smiling and laughing.

Polly Ann is survived by her sons, John Helmer and wife, Beverly, Wesley Helmer and wife, Marquita, and Kris Wusterhausen and wife, Cresenta; grandchildren, Tamra Jo Hansen and husband, Jamie, Jenna Sobey and husband, Chris, Ashley Bayer and husband, Ryan, Colt Helmer, and Aidan and Ava Wusterhausen; 5 great-grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tom Bonner; and her grandson, Jay Helmer.

A graveside service will be held Monday November 20, 2023, at Cleburne Memorial City Cemetery. The casket will be open for viewing at the graveside from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
