Phillip Andrew Ciammaichella passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of service and dedication. To those who knew him, Phillip was a protector, a storyteller, a man of his word, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Born December 18, 1959 in San Jose, California, to Angelo Ciammaichella and Virginia Horton, Phillip proudly served his country in both the United States Navy and the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 20 years to serving his community as a Deputy Sheriff. Throughout both careers, Phillip touched countless lives - helping many people. His desire to serve others continued throughout his life, including through his ownership and operation of Ciamco Inc., an electronic recycling business. Whatever he was doing, Phillip believed in doing his part to help people and make the world a better place.
Above all else, Phillip was a family man. His family meant everything to him, and he loved and protected them fiercely. He shared 46 years of love with his wife, Cheri, whom he often credited with helping make him a better man. Their relationship was a true love story, built over decades of devotion and a partnership that remained at the center of his life.
Phillip was also known for his incredible storytelling. He could turn a story into an occasion, and those fortunate enough to hear him tell one could expect to laugh until their sides hurt. His personality and ability to make people feel at ease will be remembered by all who knew him.
Phillip lived by what he called the cowboy rules, and he made sure to pass those lessons along to his grandsons and anyone else he believed needed to hear them: Live each day with courage. Take pride in your work. Always finish what you start. Do what has to be done. Be tough, but fair. When you make a promise, keep it. Talk less, say more. Never lie. If it's not right, don't do it. If it isn't yours, don't take it. These were more than words to Phillip. They were principles by which he lived - a reflection of the honesty, responsibility, and strength he hoped to instill in those he loved.
Phillip will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Cheri Ciammaichella; his daughters, Lyndi Ciammaichella Laib and husband, Kris; Megan Ciammaichella Nirschel and husband, Brad; and Mary Ciammaichella Henderson; and his grandchildren, Zoey Laib, Ryan Laib, Kaden Laib, Aliah Nirschel, Sophie Nirschel, Austin Ciammaichella, and Kasey Henderson.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2026, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Following the service, his family will gather for a private graveside service at Acton Cemetery in Granbury, Texas, where Phillip will be laid to rest.
Phillip spent his life serving others, standing by his word, protecting those he loved, and leaving people with a story and a laugh. His was a life of purpose, courage, and fierce love. His family will carry his lessons forward, and his memory will live on in every life he touched.
