Peggy "Joy" Norman

  Peggy “Joy” Norman, 77, of Burleson, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 9, 2020, at her home. A graveside committal service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, June 12, at Memory Gardens, west of Weatherford, Texas.

  Joy was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on July 7, 1942. She was the youngest of seven children born to Alvie and Maggie Shafer. In her youth, she loved to dance and loved music. She also enjoyed caring for horses and going camping with her family. Joy will be remembered for her ‘big heart’ and for always giving of herself. She particularly loved caring for babies. Most of all, Joy will be remembered for being a devout Christian and for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

  Joy is survived by her children, Nerissa Renee Morgan, Kelly Ford and his wife, Sherry, and Peggy Stephens and husband, Chip; and by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Norman, and by her six siblings.
