Patsy Jean Smethers Ames

  Patsy Jean Smethers Ames, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Patsy was born on November 6, 1941, in Weatherford, Texas to V.C. "Buddy" and Lorean Smethers.

  Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She spent her life caring for her family and animals. She worked at Grote Vet Clinic for close to 25 years. After retirement, her time was spent with her kids and grandkids, or going on trips with her sisters.

  Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary McBride and Janice Walker.

  Patsy is survived by her three children, Stephanie Theal and husband Jason, Dewey Ames, and Michael Ames; her three grandchildren, Cody Lessig, Tyler Lessig, and Tayler Lessig; her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Carstyn, Caelan, Bryton, and Oaklee; as well as her sisters and brother, Bonnie Smethers, Johnny Smethers and wife Ellen, Shirley Murphy and husband Jeff, and Nickey Gammill.

 A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas.

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, October 26, 2026, at the Curtis Cemetery, in Weatherford.
