Patrick Hulen Barker, age 47, departed this life on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Born on May 30, 1978, in Weatherford, Texas, to Fred Barker and Betty (Fontamillas) Thurman. Patrick lived a life shaped by service, curiosity, and the simple joys he shared with those he loved.
Known fondly as Patrick, Pat, or Patty, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as part of the 1st Cavalry Division and remained connected to the veteran community through his membership in the VFW.
His interests reflected his spirited and thoughtful nature - he enjoyed firearms, all things military, online gaming, music, reading, and trips to the movies with his dad. He was also known for his wholehearted appreciation of deviled eggs, a small detail that brought a smile to those who knew him best.
Patrick is survived by his father, Fred M. Barker and wife, Donna, of Weatherford, Texas; his mother, Betty Thurman of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister, Christine Hebert and husband, Keith; and his niece, Amber Hebert. He is also remembered with love by extended family members, Brandon Sanders, Clay Sanders, Dara Sanders Harris, Major Buntyn, Logan Sanders, Riley Sanders, and Brooks Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Robert Rathburn Buntyn.
A time of visitation with the family will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
Patrick will be lovingly remembered for his devotion to family, his pride in his service, and the integrity with which he lived.
