  Norman Wallace Craven, born October 30, 1939, in Santa Monica, California, son of Wallace Henry Craven and Frances (Heldman) Craven, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at age 86, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law.

  Norman honorably served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force as a navigator-bombardier flying in a B-52, attaining the rank of major in 1969. Norman served during the Vietnam War from June 1972 to August 1972. He was awarded the Air Medal with one oak leaf cluster for meritorious achievement during the war, retiring in February 1982 while stationed at Carswell Air Force Base.

  In September 1980, Norman married Christy at the Zion Hill Community Church and were married for 38 years. Together they made their home in Weatherford and Possum Kingdom, Texas, where they enjoyed the tranquility of country living.

  Following his distinguished military career, Norman embarked on a 12-year tenure with American Airlines as a navigation instructor, taking early retirement in November 1996 at the age of 57.

  Norman will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband who treasured traveling with his wife and spending quality time with family.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Christy Ann Craven; and his sister, Carolyn Grissom.

  Norman leaves behind his daughters, Jennifer and her husband, Bobby Stults, and Christine Kappl; his step-children, Keith and his wife, Leanne Busby, and Melinda and her husband, Brian Meador; seven grandchildren, Kathleen, Michelle, Peyton, Emma, Greyson, Brianna, and Blake; and four great-grandchildren, Sienna, Luka, Braxton, and Ellis.

  His family will forever cherish his memory and the legacy of a life well lived.
