Norman Paul “Bud” Narramore, 87, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. He was born on August 22, 1937, in Kingston, Tennessee, to Norma Avaral Willhite Narramore and Edward Henry Narramore.
Bud married the love of his life, Delores Darlene Pierce, on April 20, 1962. From the moment he met her, he was smitten. Their love endured for over six decades, and they joyfully renewed their vows on their 60th wedding anniversary. Together, they raised two children, James and Joni. Bud was a devoted father who made every effort to attend their sporting events and award ceremonies, even while working long hours as a long-haul truck driver.
After retiring from Jack Cooper Transport, Bud and Delores enjoyed traveling in their RV, visiting family across Montana, Minnesota, and New Mexico. These adventures were filled with laughter, stories, and cherished memories.
Known to most simply as “Bud,” he never met a stranger. He had a natural gift for conversation and could find common ground with anyone. A gifted storyteller with a sharp memory, Bud loved sharing tales from his life - most of them true, though a few may have been tall tales. He was a passionate history buff, especially drawn to military and Western history.
Bud proudly served in the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego, California, and later in the Naval Reserves in Kingsville, Texas. In 1969, he completed his Airmen Test and went on to work with aircraft and helicopters at LTV (Vought) and Bell Helicopter. His expertise took him to California and Saudi Arabia, where he worked on various aircraft models.
Above all, Bud was a family man. He was most proud to be called “Papa” by his three grandchildren - Ashley, Cameron, and Madison - and his six great-grandchildren. Each of them felt like his favorite, and each shared a unique and special bond with him.
Bud was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores; his parents, Norma and Edward; and three of his siblings: Edward Wayne Narramore, Ada Pearl Narramore Beavers, and Charles Jerry “Poncho” Narramore.
He is survived by his sister, Bobbie Joyce Narramore; his children, James Narramore (Keela) and Joni Narramore Foote (Mike); his grandchildren, Ashley Narramore Wheat (Buck), Cameron Narramore (Whitney), and Madison Narramore Seabourn (Hunter); and his great-grandchildren, Carson, Paisley, and Emery Wheat, Dawson and Dakota Seabourn, and Leighton Narramore.
