Nola "Gert" Gertrude Tucker

March 1, 1922 — October 5, 2007

  Nola Gertrude “Gert” Tucker, 85, died peacefully Friday, October 5, 2007, in Weatherford. Mrs. Tucker was born March 1, 1922, in Olney, Texas. A Texas native, she loved Possum Kingdom Lake where her family lived, played, and worked for many years. A woman of many talents, “Gert,” as she was known to those close to her, was an excellent homemaker, bookkeeper, loving wife and caring mother. Her love and natural talents for making quilts, pictures, art, and other crafts blessed many who knew her. 

  She was devoted to her family, friends, and husband of 56 years, Lee Roy Tucker, who preceded her in death in 1992. Gert was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Whitford in 2007.  

  Gert was a very giving, kind, and deeply spiritual woman who will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. 

  She is survived by: children, Jack R. Tucker and his wife, Sherry of Hillboro, Texas, Susan McAllester Hildreth of Weatherford, and Butch Shoop, of Sanger, Texas; grandchildren, Jeff R. Tucker, Jared Tucker, Dennis Whitford, Billy Whitford, Brett Whitford, Dana Tucker-Enloe, Jacqueline Tucker-Guzman, Rebecka Tucker-Guzman, and Katherine Tucker; great grandchildren, McKenzie Tucker, Jackson Tucker, Caitlin Tucker, Chelsea Enloe, Emily Enloe, Christen Whitford, Adam Whitford, Ty Whitford, Bryson Whitford, Braden Whitford, Madeline Guzman, and Max Elliot Guzman.     

  Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
