Newell M. (Rocky) Roquemore

  Newell M. (Rocky) Roquemore, age 81, of Weatherford, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 12, 2006 in the local hospital. He was born October l, 1924 in Millsap, Texas. Rocky was raised a Master Mason in Phoenix Lodge #274 in 1967. He served in all the chairs and became the Worshipful Master in 1974 and 1975. He served the craft in both Scottish and York Rites and as a director in the Moslah Shrine Temple. Mr. Roquemore was well known in the Fort Worth, Palo Pinto and Parker County Shriners. He was a Tech Sergeant in the United States Army.   

  He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Roquemore of Weatherford; son, Steve Roquemore and wife, Lupe of Prosper; and many nieces and nephews, including Del and Norma Hamilton, Mac and Tommie Coalson and Nancy and Bill Jordan.     

  Funeral service: 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2006, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel Interment: Memory Gardens. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Cripple Children's Hospital.
