Nelia Grah Travis

  Nelia Grah Travis, 74, of Weatherford, passed away at her home on Monday, July 21, 2008. One of 13 children, she was born February 10, 1934, in Moulton, Alabama, to William and Myrtle Owen. Nelia was a resident of Parker County and a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church. 

  Preceded in death by ten siblings, parents, and Jimmie Travis. 

  She was feared by few, loved by more, respected by all. Nelia is survived by her faith and the love of her family. 

  Survivors include sister, Anne Highfield of Chama, New Mexico; brother, George Owen of Detroit, Michigan; daughter, Telese Gray of Cross Roads, Texas; son, Kyle Travis of Weatherford, Texas; and two grandchildren, Brooke and Derek Gray. 

  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Athens Memory Gardens in Athens, Alabama. The will be a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
