Naomi Marie (Dean) Harrison "Nanaw"

April 13, 1932 — May 13, 2025

Naomi Marie (Dean) Harrison, affectionately known as “Nanaw,” passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on April 13, 1932, in Parker County, Texas, Naomi was the beloved daughter of Aura Dean and Retha Followwill Dean. She graduated from Brantley-Draughon Business School and began her professional journey working for Southwestern Bell.

In 1950, she married the love of her life, Billy John Harrison. Together, Naomi and Billy were instrumental in helping to establish Bethel United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, where she sang in the choir and faithfully taught Sunday School. She cherished her role as a mother, homemaker, and aunt, finding great joy in nurturing her family.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Naomi became a bowling instructor, teaching children at Ridglea Bowling Alley in Fort Worth. After moving back to Parker County, she became a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Dennis, where she again sang in the choir and served her community with grace and faith.

From 1980 to 1991, Naomi served as office manager for Dr. Iqubal Mughal, playing a key role in launching his first medical practice. She retired in 1991 to care for her grandson, Jordan, whom she lovingly called the biggest delight of her life. Naomi treasured every moment spent with him, especially watching him grow up riding horses.

A proud and capable rancher, Naomi continued to manage the family’s cattle and horse ranch after Billy’s passing. She took great pride in owning land in Southwest Parker County.

Naomi deeply loved her family and was especially close to her niece, Ramona Lindsey, and nephew, Russell Dean. Her faithful Pekingese, Hiro, and cherished horse, Rojo, were also constant companions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy John Harrison; parents, Aura and Retha Dean; brother, Orville Dean and wife, Joan; and niece, Ramona Lindsey.

Naomi is survived by her loving daughter, Duana Dial, and husband, John; her treasured grandson, Jordan Sterling Harrison Dial; her nephew, Russell Dean and wife, Robin; great nephews, Ryan and Ross; her beloved dog, Hiro; and her horse, Rojo.

A funeral service honoring Naomi’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Dennis. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Holder Cemetery on Holder Road, just north of Buckner Road, near the communities of Dennis and Lipan, Texas.
