Nancy A. Swor, age 82, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Nancy was born on June 13, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Orie Manis and Ophelia McMinn Manis. From the beginning, her life was marked by devotion to family, to love, and to the quiet, meaningful moments that make a house a home.
At just 13 years old, Nancy met the young man who would become the love of her life. She and Don B. Swor grew up side by side, later marrying and sharing 56 beautiful years together. Nancy loved Don with her whole heart and every part of her being. Their bond was a rare and steady love that shaped her life.
Nancy was, by all accounts, “the best mom ever,” cherishing her role as a mother and taking special delight in being a grandmother. She adored her granddaughters, Sara and Jennifer, doting on them with pride and affection.
A gifted cook, especially when it came to sweets, Nancy found joy in nourishing others. She also loved crafting and creating, but perhaps her most tender devotion was reserved for animals. With a heart big enough to rescue them all, she cared deeply for every creature that crossed her path. Her beloved fur babies, Luke and Leia, were a constant source of comfort and companionship and will miss her dearly.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don B. Swor, and by her parents, Orie and Ophelia Manis.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Swor of Weatherford, Texas; her son, Matthew Swor of Granbury, Texas; bonus daughters, Kerri Swor, Stephanie King, Tina Dooley, and Shannon Murray; bonus son, Joe King; granddaughters, Sara Swor and Jennifer Swor; bonus grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan, Aaron, Becca, and Megan; great-granddaughters, Ashlynn and Hayden; brothers-in-law, Ricky Vesper and Steve Johnson; sisters-in-law, Kris Vesper and Shirley Johnson; many cherished nieces and nephews; and her best friend and sister by heart, Anna Nolan.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time. She will be laid to rest with the love of her life at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter in her name.
Until we meet again momma we love you. Teresa and Matthew
