Monia Marie Gandee

 Monia Marie Gandee, age 79, departed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

 Born on August 3, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Johnnie Novak and Nita (Skidmore) Novak, Monia was a woman of deep faith. Her family lovingly remembers her as a devoted homemaker - a true “domestic engineer” - who found great joy in caring for her home and family. She especially enjoyed cooking, and one of her most memorable dishes was the well-loved Mrs. Wright’s Chicken.

 Creative at heart, Monia followed in her mother’s footsteps and had a special gift for floral design, often crafting beautiful arrangements that brightened her home. She was an animal lover and was rarely without the companionship of a beloved dog - her faithful friends Copper and Nova preceded her in death.

 Above all, Monia cherished her role as “Granny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and she loved them deeply.

 Monia was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Novak; mother, Nita May Novak; and brother, Shon P. Novak.

 She is survived by her devoted husband, Samuel L. Gandee, Sr. of Weatherford, Texas; her son, Todd Gandee and wife, Angie; her son, Sam Gandee and wife, Rachal; four adoring grandchildren, Samantha Tinney and husband, Dakota, Savannah Sanchez, Caul Gandee, and Charlee Gandee; and three beloved great-grandchildren, Krue Miller, Vanessa Sanchez, and Valentine Sanchez.

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Dicey Cemetery, located at 200 Cutter McLane, Weatherford, Texas 76085.
