Mervin “MJ” Joseph Gros

  Mervin “MJ” Joseph Gros, 84, of Grand Prairie passed away, Friday, January 17, 2020, in Arlington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, at Newberry Cemetery, 1301 Newberry Road, Millsap, Texas 76066.

  Mervin was born December 18, 1935, in Napoleonville, Louisiana, to Elmo and Mabel Gros. His passion was winning souls to Christ. Mervin pastored Lakeside Baptist Church in Grand Prairie where he dedicated his life to serving the Lord. 

  He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Glenna Hurley Gros; children, Glenn Gros, Cheryl Shook and husband, Dan; Jeff Gros and wife, Chelda; sisters, Virgie Morrison and husband, Barry, Bessie Webb and Barbara Landry and husband, Gilbert; grandchildren, Angie Miller, Aimee Gros, Rachelle French, Audrianna Murph, Caleb Gros, Joshua Gros and Gavin Gros; and great grandchildren, Avery, Addison, Ben, Bryson, Andrew, Graham, Lenya, Me’Leyna, and Lenny.
