Melissa A. Beggs

July 18, 1962 — September 3, 2025

Melissa “Missy” Beggs, age 63, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 18, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Jerry D. and Georgia Godsey.

Missy had a heart made for caring, spending most of her adult life serving others as a medical assistant. Her unmistakable laugh and warm presence brought joy wherever she went. She found her greatest pride and joy in being a mother and “MeMe.” As her daughter Shannon said so perfectly, she wasn’t just Mom and MeMe to her family - she was Mom and MeMe to everyone who knew her.

A gifted cook and baker, Missy loved gathering family and friends around the table, filling homes with the comfort of food and the warmth of love. She lived her life with a fierce spirit - an overcomer from the very beginning, who faced every challenge with courage and faith. Her testimony of perseverance and strength was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Missy’s faith in God was unwavering. She shared it openly, encouraging others to experience the same relationship with Jesus that sustained her. She wanted the world to know that no matter what we face, our God is bigger - and with Him, all things are possible. Her lessons, her love, and her example will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Angel Beggs; her father, Jerry D. Godsey; her stepfather, Ron Forrest; and her brother, Russell Godsey.

Left to carry her legacy are her mother, Georgia Forrest of Cleburne; her son, Casey and wife, Kasey of Duncan, Oklahoma; her daughter, Shannon and husband, Kyle of Ennis; her brother, Jerry of Springtown; and her stepdaughter, Kati of Millsap. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Gracelynn, Aubree, Nolan, Cole, Allison, Aspen, Ridley, Adalyn, Chase, and Kody - along with two precious great-grandchildren. Missy was deeply loved by many, including her closest lifelong friends, Kathy, Shannon, and Anne, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, where her family and friends will gather to honor and remember the beautiful soul she was.
