Maurine Newsom, 88, of Weatherford, died Friday, December 09, 2011 in a Weatherford healthcare center. Maurine was born December 30, 1922 in Collinsville, Texas. She was a retired Bookkeeper for a Cotton Gin in Seminole, a member of North Side Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Newsom was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Newsom; sons, Clayton Newsom and Jimmy Newsom; granddaughter, Connie Stokes; four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Stokes of Weatherford; grandchildren, Chandra Newsom and Rayanne Hukill; great grandchildren, Nisha and Mika; and great great granddaughter, Myranda.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011, in the Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
