Maudine Merchant

  Maudine Merchant, 62, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2010, in the Weatherford hospital. Born September 9, 1947, in Fairfield, Texas, to Maurine Lampkin and John Henry Washington, Sr. Maudine was a homemaker; loved by many and known as Granny or Mama.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a former employee of Kennedy’s and Mastershield in Weatherford.  

  Maudine was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Merchant in 2003; a daughter, Sheila Kizzie; and a brother, Norman “Slick” Washington.
 
  Survivors include: daughters, Tracy Dedrick of Fort Worth, Leslie Merchant and Dana McKnight, both of Weatherford; sons, Jerry Kizzie, Jr. and Anthony Kizzie, both of Weatherford; eight grandchildren; sisters, Tina Smith and Mae Milton, both of Weatherford; brothers, Booker T. Washington of Odessa, John Henry Washington, Jr., and George Washington, both of Weatherford.
 
  Funeral service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Curtis Jefferson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
