Mary Ann Walker, born April 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love. Born to Salvator Taormina and Mary Spravale - both of whom preceded her in death - Mary Ann grew up with a bright spirit and a heart full of devotion to those she loved.
She is survived by her sister, Rosanne, also of St. Louis, and by her beloved son, Leonard Farwig, and his wife, Carmen. Mary Ann was a proud grandmother to three grandsons: Chris Farwig, Michael Farwig, and Leonard Farwig, as well as three great grandchildren: Alice Farwig, Clarke Farwig, and Jadelyn Farwig. Each of them was a source of joy, pride, and endless stories shared with anyone who would listen.
Known affectionately as “Grandma Walker,” Mary Ann was an avid crappie fisher who could spend endless hours on the water with a rod in her hand and a twinkle in her eye. She cherished quiet mornings at the lake just as much as the bustling gatherings of family that filled her home and heart with laughter. Her fierce love for her family was unwavering - she celebrated their victories, supported them through challenges, and always made sure they knew they were loved.
Her mischievous spirit, warm humor, and unforgettable personality made her a joy to be around. Whether she was teasing her grandsons, sharing stories from her younger years, or offering advice with her signature spark, Mary Ann had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and appreciated.
The loss of Mary Ann leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will continue to shine through her family and the many memories they carry. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever remain a source of warmth and strength.
