Mary Viola Sanderson, age 91, died on Friday, February 18, 2011 in Corsicana, Texas. Viola was born on November 4, 1919, to Rasmas and Georgie Lucas, in Cuniff, Texas. She was married to Thomas Webb Sanderson for 52 years and 12 days. Mary lived a wonderful and abundant life bringing love and smiles to everyone she met. She was a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mary enjoyed sharing her stories of the past and her knowledge of all she had seen and everyone in her life.
Mary leaves behind her sons, Jerry Sanderson and wife, Brenda of Fort Worth, Clifton Sanderson and wife, Yolanda of Bowie and Virgle Sanderson and Mary of Huntsville; daughter, Glenna Baker and husband, Otto of Corsicana; ten grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
She was dearly loved and admired. Mary was a true inspiration and will be missed. The family wishes to give special thanks to Heritage Oaks West, Hospice and her dear friend, Mrs. Bruce.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, with Rev Clifton Sanderson and Rev. Barre Sanderson officiating.
